The Moments app uses geo-location and push notifications to passively reconnect old photos with locations, helping you and those you care about to relive favorite memories.

We don’t remember days, months, or years. We remember moments. And for when we don’t, there’s now an app for that. Instead of posting, sharing, or checking-in; what if you were reminded? Moments is an app that reminds you of the memories that are most important to you. With the Moments App, when you pass by places that you have been to, Moments sends you a push notification. You can then relive and share your special moment with the friends and family who were with you at the time.

The fourth amendment of the U.S constitution protects citizens against unreasonable searches and seizure. The famous Roy Olmstead case of 1928 used this amendment in its defense when Olmstead was charged with a crime using evidence collected from phone tapping. Although the Supreme Court denied the defense, it gave way to a heated privacy debate that continues today.

Facebook and other social networks are finding it hard to fight off increased mobile usage and some pundits are even suggesting that social networks are dying. Based on stats, however, social media platforms do not seem to be going anywhere. For instance, we have reports on the increase in the number of social media users and even tweets on Twitter; we also have reports that clearly indicate an ever-increasing population on Facebook. We know for sure that 15% of adults on the internet use Twitter, and the number is even higher for Facebook. So how could social networks possibly die?

Path is an application that is based upon the concept of “sharing your life journey” with your family and your closest friends. Path was launched in 2010 in San Francisco, CA by a former Facebooker. Since its debut, some 3 million people have downloaded the application.

Path is an intimate social networking tool based on smart journal that allows users to tell their story, share pictures and choose the 150 people whom they wish to share those with.

Alasdair Allan and Pete Warden, a pair of security researchers, yesterday announced their discovery that the iPhone and 3G iPad are continuously storing a history of your location, along with a timestamp, in a file on the device.  What makes this issue worse is that the file is unencrypted (unprotected) and it will backup to any machine you’ve synched with your iOS device.
