New York is a big city! Finding the nearest restroom is not just a tourist thing. We’ve all encountered a “close call” with nature! How do we cope with the fear of having to hold “it” in?

Imagine pulling out your phone and having it direct you across the street to a clean, public restroom. Leave it to Charmin. They’ve developed a bathroom locator app called SitorSquat that works with GPS to locate for you the nearest and cleanest public restroom!

If you live in the NYC area, you probably complain about the NYC Subway, the LIRR and Metro North. You’ve likely missed a train because it arrived too early or were late to an appointment because it arrived late. A study last year showed that only 71% of riders reached the train on time +/- 5 minutes.

It’s nothing unique to New York City, it happens in almost every metropolis in the world. The same thing happens in Europe and in Asia. No one really knows when a train or bus will arrive.

The tech scene is flooded with new tech start-ups; we’ve decided to put together a list of a few that are making moves on the tech scene.

Each of us can name at least one friend who has had (or thought they had) a killer idea for the next big app. But how many of those ideas actually take off? Not many. Maybe it’s because the idea wasn’t brilliant after all, or maybe the Silicon Valley venture capital was missing. Whatever the case may be, in actuality, the start-up scene is flooded with apps and services that are more than worthy of investment. Here are our favorite new tech start-ups!

I spent some time at Verizon this morning helping a client port her number from a T-Mobile Android to a Verizon iPhone. The real fun began when we couldn’t transfer 2,400 contacts off the Droid’s SIM card. Needless to say, I wish we had the ConXfer App!

ConXfer is a patent pending wireless, mobile to mobile secure contacts transfer application. It simplifies the process of securely transferring a user’s contact and mobile business cards from one device to another using WiFi or Bluetooth.
