Wondering “Am I addicted to Facebook?” You could be, according to Norwegian researcher, Cecilie Schou Andreasson, who claims Facebook Addiction is a real threat.

Suffice it to say, addictions are rough! People can become addicted to many things: food, video games, the Internet, sex, and drugs, to name a few.  Some people are considered to have a clinical iPhone addiction and – believe it or not –there are even people who are addicted to love!

Norwegian researcher, Cecilie Schou Andreasson claims that there is a new type of addiction, a social networking addiction of sorts, also known as “Facebook Addiction.”

Ever wonder “is this a friend request to ignore?” Most people have encountered at least one ‘unusual’ Facebook friend request. That said, adding a new friend on Facebook is more strategic than ‘accept’ or ‘ignore.’ After all, admitting someone into your inner circle can also mean exposing them to your private family photos and even your physical coordinates (i.e. Facebook “check-ins”).

What is Facebook up to this week? Oh, just releasing a new app –no big deal.

Facebook Camera debuted this week; it’s an IOS standalone photo app that allows you to take pictures, filter and share them individually or in sets on your Facebook feed. The Facebook camera allows you to quickly select a photo or a bunch of photos, apply filters and tag your friends. You can also add a location, a caption and a description. The app is great for travel or sharing party pics!

Earlier today Mashable reported Facebook”s plans to buy Opera, a browser designed by a Norwegian company software.  The LA Times, hours ago reported that credible sources have informed them that Facebook is indeed targeting Opera as its latest acquisition. The Facebook wedding of Mark Zuckerberg and Priscilla Chan raises eyebrows, with curious timing.

Last week, Facebook CEO married his long time girlfriend –but everyone knows that already. The curious timing is that he married her after becoming a billionaire 19 times over. Adding another curious fact is that the wedding was a backyard ceremony attended only by 100 or so of Zuckerberg’s friends. Those close to the couple say that they’ve been together for a decade and there’s no reason to doubt that this marriage will work out. Chan, who just graduated from Medical school, is regarded as a genius, much like her husband.

It’s official: this morning, shortly after 9:30AM EST, when the NYSE opens, a few people on this planet will enter into a new tax bracket (at 11:30AM to be percise).

Facebook (NASDAQ: FB) yesterday evening announced pricing of $38 per share for its initial public offering of 421MM shares of common stock, to take place today. Facebook will offer shares (all 180 million + of them) for trading under the NASDAQ symbol “FB.” In addition, selling stockholders (who are about to get mega paid) are offering 240MM shares of Class A common stock.
