The Facebook gaming platform is going through changes to compete with other platforms. Kabam, a major social gaming company, recently shared with VentureBeat that only 30% of its revenue is coming from Facebook. Similarly, many other leading Facebook game developers have migrated to other platforms, including iOS and Android, in the last six months or so. Some think Facebook is losing its grip while other think it’s just an evolution phase.
Bar Call is an app that allows users to save their voice at the bar. Type your requested drink and expand the text so the bartender can visually see it.
Porters, Stouts, or Ales – what are you ordering tonight? If you’re tired of yelling at the top of your lungs at the bar only for the bartender to serve you the total opposite drink than ordered, this app is for you. With Bar Call you can order a drink conveniently by holding up your iPhone to the bartender. The bartender will notice the enlarged text even if you are holding it from across the bar. Impressively enough, Bar Call uses large black font on a white background to make text prominent even in disco lights.

It’s official: this morning, shortly after 9:30AM EST, when the NYSE opens, a few people on this planet will enter into a new tax bracket (at 11:30AM to be percise).
Facebook (NASDAQ: FB) yesterday evening announced pricing of $38 per share for its initial public offering of 421MM shares of common stock, to take place today. The tech scene is flooded with new tech start-ups; we’ve decided to put together a list of a few that are making moves on the tech scene.
Each of us can name at least one friend who has had (or thought they had) a killer idea for the next big app. But how many of those ideas actually take off? Not many. Maybe it’s because the idea wasn’t brilliant after all, or maybe the Silicon Valley venture capital was missing. Whatever the case may be, in actuality, the start-up scene is flooded with apps and services that are more than worthy of investment. Here are our favorite new tech start-ups!
I spent some time at Verizon this morning helping a client port her number from a T-Mobile Android to a Verizon iPhone. The real fun began when we couldn’t transfer 2,400 contacts off the Droid’s SIM card. Needless to say, I wish we had the ConXfer App!
ConXfer is a patent pending wireless, mobile to mobile secure contacts transfer application. It simplifies the process of securely transferring a user’s contact and mobile business cards from one device to another using WiFi or Bluetooth.
Zynga is by far, the hottest and most popular company in the world right now…and I can prove it!
A lot of you are definitely saying to yourselves; “Zynga?, I’ve never even heard of it!” And you may in fact be completely truthful in that statement. But that in no way changes my claim above.
Although you may not have heard directly of Zynga, I’m certain most of our readers are intimately familiar with this company’s products.
Does Farmville ring any bells?
Kogeto (@kogeto) has created a device called Dot, which pairs a bite-size panoramic video recording device to your iPhone 4 / 4S. Previously we wrote about a pocket-friendly video projector; now it has met its match!
“It’s a pocket-friendly 360 degree panoramic video thingy”
