In much the same way that a seed all-inclusively contains the DNA of a tree (its branches, leaves and fruit), each of our intentions contain a ‘fruit,’ or end result as well.

Alternatively, no matter how sophisticated the DNA of a seed, if the environment that seed is planted in does not have a healthy ‘soil,’ there is no way for the seed to bear healthy fruit.

Intention is equally as important as environment.

Last week I shared my incredible experience of mobile checkout at Sephora. In line with the subject, Square (which lets you accept payments on your smartphone via an external dongle) launched today a new Card Case payment system that turns your phone into a mobile wallet.

What is the relationship between technology and people?

Technology is a powerful vehicle to swiftly connect people across all corners of the earth.  Ironically, in today’s society, technology is being used for the exact opposite means for that which it was intended.

Sephora single-point-of-sale done wirelessly, using an iPhone.

My Anastasia Brow products (fav!) needed a refresh, so I took a power-walk up to the Sephora store on 57th and Lexington today. I did a little shopping and one of the sales reps came over asking if I needed any help.  I let her know I was okay (I know my way around a Sephora store!), so she asked if I was by chance ready to check out –I was.  Expecting she would ask me to walk over to the register, I was surprised when she pulled out her iPhone to check me out!

Technology and children –how are our children being impacted by the ever-increasing use of technology?

Technology has grown to become deeply entrenched in our daily lives; increasingly more so over the last 20 years. The result is children as young as tots proficient with iPads and smartphones, with respective Facebook pages to boot. While it may be cute, it’s not always fun and games. With technology changing so rapidly, parents are struggling to keep up with the latest platforms, and more importantly, the shifting rules of data sharing and online etiquette.

Choosing between a Mac and a PC is no easy task.  There are many things to consider: ergonomics, functionality, and operating system just to name a few.  But I’ll get to that in a moment.

If you’re wondering where I’ve been the last 2 weeks, I have been going through some major transitions (with business, home, and relationships –just to name a few)! I will get into the details of these exciting changes in another post very soon, but right now I want to share one piece of very exciting news: I am the proud owner of a MacBook Air!

The most important thing to carriers besides subscribers is mobile spectrum; but by next year, according to CNN Money, the FCC could experience what is known as a “Spectrum Crunch” where there will be no more airwaves to pass around. This comes at a time where mobile carriers need spectrum the most as data hogging smartphones, such as the Apple iPhone, use up all their spectrum. If carriers don’t get enough spectrum soon, the result will be dropped calls and slow data speeds. So what are the big 4 mobile carriers going to do about this? They’re going to do the best they can to get a much spectrum as possible, but it won’t be pretty. In fact, its going to be gruesome and here’s why.
