Last January, Amazon announced AutoRip, a program which allows you to get free MP3s for any CDs you’ve purchased since the mid-90s. Now, they’re extending that offer with AutoRip for vinyl record purchases, according to reports. As of last week, you can now get free MP3 versions of music purchased on vinyl, which is a great deal for music lovers who want the sound of vinyl, but still like the convenience of having a digital copy of their music.
Thanks to a successfully funded Kickstarter campaign, emergency cell phone charging is about to get a whole lot…smaller! Instead of having to drag around a cord and find a power source or pack a bulky self-contained charger, we’ll soon be able to travel with a keyring charger that’s the size of a quarter to make sure you have some extra juice in case of an emergency.
Back in 1997, just about every pre-teen girl (and lots of guys too) had a Tamagotchi or at least one of the knock-off brands of electronic pets. I was obsessed with mine until my parents made me get rid of it. Apparently, it’s really annoying to light sleepers when your pixelated cat is beep-meowing for food at three in the morning!
Now, you can relive the glory days of the mid-90s as the proud owner of a Tamagotchi once again. Tamagotchi L.i.f.e. is a new app available on iOS and Android that allows you to take care of a virtual pet just like you did in the good old days. The app is free, though there is an ad-free paid version available as well.
A team from the University of Notre Dame has developed the first iPad app to help you diagnose concussions. Is this the future of healthcare?
A team at University of Notre Dame has developed the very first app for diagnosing traumatic brain injuries (TBIs) using voice recognition. Currently, there are 1.6 million to 3.8 million sports-related TBIs every year, including 300,000 among young athletes. This app could help diagnose concussions and other TBIs faster, helping those with injuries avoid long-term problems. In addition, there are non-athletic applications to this app, including helping diagnose TBIs in the field for members of the military.
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve wished I could “call” my keys to find them, just like I do when I misplace my cell phone. Now, that’s actually a possibility (sort of). With Stick-N-Find Bluetooth stickers, you can track and find just about any item using your cell phone.
Stick-N-Find is about the size of a quarter, so you can stick it on almost anything, not just your key chain. You can set it to buzz or flash a light, and you can also have the complimentary phone app alert you when your sticker goes out of range.
Finding the best content to share via social media can be a real time-suck. Swayy is a brand new platform you can use to save a little time in finding awesome content and sharing it with your followers on Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn. This is a great app to test out if you’re looking for an easy content sharing solution.
Swayy allows you to choose one to five topics that are of interest to you and your social followers. It also analyzes your audience and the links you’re already sharing to see the most popular sources, the types of content you’re sharing (blog posts, videos, etc.), and your trending keywords. From there, the platform recommends content for you to share.

T-Mobile and Audi announced plans this week for affordable method for connecting to Internet to you Audi Connect compatible vehicle.
In a press release Monday, T-Mobile announced plans this week for a new way for drivers to connect internet to their vehicle. While the plan is extensive it will only currently be available in newer Audi vehicles as a part of the Audi Connect feature on select models.
Audi and T-Mobile are introducing the first plan of its kind. In the past, internet capable cars have relied heavily on user connected devices like their smartphones piggy-backing on the drivers data plan to support the system. This has proven a costly problem with shockingly high data charges.
Looking for tickets to a sold-out concert or other event? You might want to check out Applauze, a new ticket-finding app from 955 Dreams, the masterminds behind Band of the Day.
Applauze doesn’t just let you buy tickets to the sold-out Bieber concert, though (don’t worry, we won’t tell); it also allows you to discover brand new events in your city, personalized to your tastes.
