Are we living in the moment or too busy with our smartphone cameras, taking pictures?
Imagine this: you are watching your favorite league game in a stadium for the first time ever, and it turns out to be a big match. With the final home run, you know victory is yours. The entire stadium is on its feet, yelling happily at the top of their lungs – their happiness rests only in the moment. But you’re not “there” – you’re too busy talking pictures!

Bar Call is an app that allows users to save their voice at the bar. Type your requested drink and expand the text so the bartender can visually see it.
Porters, Stouts, or Ales – what are you ordering tonight? If you’re tired of yelling at the top of your lungs at the bar only for the bartender to serve you the total opposite drink than ordered, this app is for you. With Bar Call you can order a drink conveniently by holding up your iPhone to the bartender. The bartender will notice the enlarged text even if you are holding it from across the bar. Impressively enough, Bar Call uses large black font on a white background to make text prominent even in disco lights.
eBay introduced a new interface that lets you order products with same-day delivery. Called eBay Now, this new interface (which comes in the form of an iOS app), is currently in its exclusive beta, open only for San Francisco residents. San Francisco residents can pay a delivery fee of $5 on products from local stores to get a product delivered the same day. The deliveries are then sent within one hour.
Back in 2004 when Google went public, Microsoft felt the sting of a younger competitor. Now Google itself is feeling that sting, facing competition from Facebook. Among the social network’s efforts to lure users from Google, Facebook is now pushing it’s @facebook.com email platform (a major play against Gmail, if you ask me). I noticed today, a quietly rolled out Facebook feature which lets Facebook users forward their Facebook messages. You can forward those messages to other Facebook users, but more importantly, you can forward them to any outside email address. And who is the return address? Your @facbook.com default email, of course.
Weesh: App for Couples
Be it food, health, travel, or lifestyle; you will find a mobile app for just about anything. But what you won’t so easily find is an app for couples. We’ve written about Pair in the past, a one-to-one networking app for couples, but other than Pair, there aren’t many other app options that let couples remain in touch and document their special moments. What’s more, the couple apps out there don’t address one key relationship pain point: how to spend your quality time together. With this in mind, the development team at JustUs created Weesh, a mobile app for couples that lets the couple create a “Weesh” list for activities they’d like to experience with one another. Like Pair, the app lets couples share precious moments through their phones; however, the app is specifically geared toward planning dates together, including activity suggestions.
