Back in 2004 when Google went public, Microsoft felt the sting of a younger competitor. Now Google itself is feeling that sting, facing competition from Facebook. Among the social network’s efforts to lure users from Google, Facebook is now pushing it’s @facebook.com email platform (a major play against Gmail, if you ask me). I noticed today, a quietly rolled out Facebook feature which lets Facebook users forward their Facebook messages. You can forward those messages to other Facebook users, but more importantly, you can forward them to any outside email address. And who is the return address? Your @facbook.com default email, of course.
Weesh: App for Couples
Be it food, health, travel, or lifestyle; you will find a mobile app for just about anything. But what you won’t so easily find is an app for couples. We’ve written about Pair in the past, a one-to-one networking app for couples, but other than Pair, there aren’t many other app options that let couples remain in touch and document their special moments. What’s more, the couple apps out there don’t address one key relationship pain point: how to spend your quality time together. With this in mind, the development team at JustUs created Weesh, a mobile app for couples that lets the couple create a “Weesh” list for activities they’d like to experience with one another. Like Pair, the app lets couples share precious moments through their phones; however, the app is specifically geared toward planning dates together, including activity suggestions.
If you have been keen on the iPhone release date, you have been anticipating the yet-to-be released iPhone 5 anytime between now and late this year. Know Your Mobile has spread the word that the new gadget will be due for release come August 7 th 2012 but from the look of things, that is an uncertainty, especially after Apple has shown no concern toward addressing any speculations.
Entrepreneurial lifestyles have become a meme. However, don’t be fooled –every entrepreneur isn’t on the fast track to success. Even those who eventually do find success, they’ve made their fair share of mistakes along the way. Losing capital and wasted development time is common among young as well as mature entrepreneurs. Moreover, many entrepreneurs even get ripped off by their ‘trusted’ consultants.
Apple goes green! Apple has wisely decided to comply with the Electronic Product Environmental Assessment Tool (EPEAT) guidelines despite its growing problems with the regulation in the past. Apple’s earlier decision to take its products off EPEAT seemed to be a mistake, as the company failed to recognize the potential sales and goodwill it could lose as a result of that decision.
