Thanks to TV/media, and amongst other things, a new app from NBC, over 2.5 billion people – more than one third of the world’s population – are expected to watch Prince William marry Kate Middleton on Friday. To give you some perspective, approximately 750 million viewers watched when Prince Charles married Lady Diana Spencer some 30 years earier. At the time, it was the most-watched live event in television history.
Will the launch of the iPhone 5 come in Fall of 2011? That’s the rumor!
It’s well known that Apple releases a new version of the iPhone every summer but with the release of the iPhone 4 on Verizon just a few months ago, it’s likely the device will be delayed until the Fall. Here’s why:
A new App for the iPhone by Hipstamatic brings back the look, feel, unpredictable beauty, and fun of plastic toy cameras from the past. Before taking a picture, you can change your lens, flash or film with the swipe of your finger. Each option creates a unique touch, so you can mix and match to your favorite combo for the exact picture effect you want. Digital Photography Never Looked So… Analog.
You can take a screenshot of whatever is on your iPad 2 / iPhone 4 by pressing and holding the Sleep/Wake button (top right) while quickly pressing and releasing the Home button (bottom center). The screenshot will appear among your Photos. This function is awesome if you receive a really funny text that you want to pass along (in all it’s glory) to your friends.
Kindle fans rejoice. Kindle goes on sale! A new “Kindle with Special Offers” edition is being released by Amazon.
This new Kindle includes all the same features as previous Kindle’s—the same paper-like Pearl electronic-ink display (great even under bright sunlight), same one month battery life, same ultra-light 8.5 ounce weight, but it’s cheaper.
Notice your iPad 2 / iPhone 4 didn’t come with a large printed user manual (that’s just not Apple’s style). The guide is available in PDF from Apple’s Web site, or you can read it in iBooks (available as a free download in the App Store). Make sure to download the manual for iOS 4.3.
Science and Technology bring us Telepathy!
Te·lep·a·thy: [tuh-lep-uh-thee] –noun – Communication between minds by some means other than sensory perception.
That’s right folks –telepathy is just within reach. Researchers at the University of California, San Diego have developed a system that allows users to dial a number on a cellphone using nothing but their thoughts.
Now your iPhone can accept Amex, or other credit cards, with Square!
The iPhone is now credit card compatible. A company by the name of Square has designed a credit card reader that plugs into the headphone jack, enabling you to accept credit cards and debit cards on the fly. Square then transfers daily deposit to your bank account.
