world leaders on twitter 07-01-2013

Twitter has become so immensely popular that world leaders on Twitter account for 75% of them globally. It’s no wonder Twitter is on its way to IPO.

In 2011 the world came to truly understand the revolutionary impact of social media. As a result of the movement in Middle East, images were distributed through Twitter, Facebook and other mainstream social media networks, which served as a catalyst to an already disturbed situation. There was no denying the unrest; so much so that social scientists and media experts credited social media for rallying people together around a cause: peace.

Those looking to invest money in e-commerce won’t find a better time than NOW. That said, there are number of barriers that make it a bit difficult to customize an e-commerce store the way one would customize a store in the real world.

Apple Mac US
Apple has gradually moved production away from the US, enjoying the fruits of low cost of labor, primarily in China. However, work-related conditions in China has Apple reconsidering its original plan. Tim cook, the company’s Chief Executive, has stated that the company will be investing $100M to move Mac productions back home.

Apple has been leaving hints here and there in the past few months about a possible move out of China. Now that Cook has confirmed it, we’re pretty sure new Macs will be sold with ‘Assembled in USA’ stickers.

If you think 3D printing is just a fantasy, think again. Learn how 3D printing works; making modern printers able to print 3D models using additive techniques.

3D printing is commonly defined as the means of creating three dimensional solid objects from a digital model. 3D printing applies additive manufacturing techniques. Quite unlike the conventional machining process where material is removed through cutting or carving, the additive manufacturing used in 3D printing sets layers upon layers to create a three dimensional image.

Technology in Israel: I spent a week in Israel meeting with leaders in tech. The result is a thoughtful view of a tiny country that few ever get to see.

If you’re wondering why I haven’t blogged in the last week or so, it’s because I was traveling (with a very tight schedule). Last week I had the pleasure and privilege of taking part in a delegation trip to Israel to meet with the country’s leaders in technology (startups, entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, investors, incubators and more). The invitation was extended by the Israeli Consulate of NY and Israel’s Foreign Trade Ministry. The attendees, in addition to myself, were a handful of fellow U.S. bloggers. The trip’s objective was to immerse the delegation into technology in Israel, a tech and startup scene that’s been dubbed the ‘Startup Nation,’ which is also the title of a best-selling book on the very subject.

If you want to increase your daily productivity, you can do so by learning Google. Subscribe to a course from Google itself and learn how.

We use Google everyday for all sorts of things. We search for confusing terms, we look up restaurants for places to dine, we even use Google to find out more about our business competitors. Google is everywhere and presumably, everyone knows how to use it –right?

Not so fast…
