An app for drinking and mixing: Mixology!  It’s our best app pick because it’ll will give you enough drink recipes to kick back and relax after all of the finance talk in yesterday’s “Best 30 Apps For…Finance” post!

Mixology Drink Recipes, also called Mixology for short, is guaranteed to become a “keeper app” (yeah…an app you actually keep), for a couple of reasons:

  1. It’s free!
  2. It’s “Liquor Cabinet” feature  allows you to enter all of the alcohol and ingredients you have on hand in your own “liquor cabinet”, and Mixology will spit back recipes you can make with the given supplies…I know, so cool!
  3. It helps you make your own simple and delicious alcoholic beverages
  4. It has a database of nearly 8,000 different drink recipes
  5. It offers tremendous variety and makes not getting stuck drinking the same things fun, via its “Random”, slot machine style function which is designed to give you random recipes

Mixology is guaranteed to be so good to you, that you’ll soon grow into a semi-professional “mixologist” yourself.

So when you’ve got the knowledge, but an empty “Liquor Cabinet”, just open the “Bar/Liquor Locator” tab in Mixology to find the nearest liquor store and restock on supplies!

Personally, I’m a fan of “Liquor Cabinet” and it looks cool, retro. You upload what liquors/mixers you have at home and it tells you not only what you can make right now, but what you could make if you only had one more ingredient. Very smart.…470987908?mt=8

That’s quite clever! And definitely a conversation started if you have company over. I am going to have to check it out.
